As A Player
Camare is a versatile wing with a knack for down hill action, creating his own shot or open looks for others. He’s been a primary ball handler for 3 out 5 Varsity seasons so he can be interchangeable on the court. Defensively he is good 1-1 while guarding the 1-4. His shot has become more consistent off the dribble and in catch and shoot 3 situations. He is a young player for his class as he will graduate at 17. I think with high level coaching Camare grows as an off ball defender and his motor can expand.

As A Student
Camare excels as a student, he’s been awarded multiple ‘Letter Awards’ and has improved his cumulative GPA every year. He is currently enrolled in PSEO and receiving college credits, which speaks volumes about his classroom work ethic. He is a well respected man and valued part of his school community by many staff and classmates.

In The Community
Camare has been a youth supervisor at his church watching and forming bonds. He is active with his team doing community outreach- working with senior assisted living, honoring past social rights leaders, and working with global outreach programs. He is always polite and a role model to the next generation of athletes from his community.
I think it’s vital to highlight that Camare played 5 years of varsity basketball without ever transferring. He was highly recruited by better power programs in-state but committed to a long term mission, taking a program with under 10 wins his 8th-10th grade years, to a state championship and top 5 ranking his Junior year. He also played with the same AAU program, Howard Pulley(Nike circuit) his whole high school career.

Meet Camare “Chico” Young, the slam-dunking maestro with a flair for both hoops and smarts! Standing tall in his size 15 kicks, Chico rules the court with over 20 points per game while acing the GPA game with a solid 4.0. A sibling in a hoop-loving clan, he’s not just the tallest but the life of the family b-ball legacy. Linked by kinship to Atlanta Falcons’ Lorenzo Carter, Chico is the charismatic hoopster who proves that on and off the court, he’s all about the fun and games!
Chico is coming off an impeccable AAU season with Howard Pulley. He was honored to play up a grade with the 17U towards the end of the season. Camare is looking forward to caring his aggressive style of play and momentum into his high school season with the Apple Valley Eagles.
